Alexander Preen operates the Service Department at Auto Hans. He was born in Germany where he grew up and finished school with the "Abitur." Alex came to the United States in 1992 to join his brother, Hans Preen, at Auto Hans. After working for Mercedes Benz in Germany, Hans came to Dallas in 1983 and eventually started Auto Hans.

After learning the trade from Hans, Alex has been working on cars ever since. Each year, he and the other technicians at Auto Hans attend numerous classes on Mercedes and BMW's each year to ensure they are up to date with the latest technology. This kind of knowledge and experience is very important to make sure your car is maintained and repaired correctly. Being a family owned business, we can assure you that we do our best to give you quality service at reasonable prices.

    Hans started his repair shop 12/01/1988. His younger brother Alex started working with him in the Mid 1990s. They have worked on numerous vehicles for me at Auto Hans for 35 years and many of my friend’s cars. Friendly knowledgeable owners and mechanics. Together they have created a successful vehicle repair shop. Very honest, great work and in timely manner. Best of the Best.

    Fantastic, trustworthy shop. They service my Audi. Much better prices than the dealer or any other shop. As a female, I never feel taken advantage of which can happen with auto shops. They also go above and beyond and do a beautiful job cleaning the car. Friendly and professional. I highly recommend

    I have owned a 1982 Mercedes 380 Sl for the last 24 years. I have been in an out of lots of DFW Mercedes shops both expensive and more affordable that either didn’t want to work on this car or really didn’t know how to work on this car. (Or both). I have been in search of a DFW shop to get it running flawlessly. Well this is the spot. PS. Ignore that photoshopped stuff on social media and find a shop that has solid mechanics. About the shop: Communication is solid. They gave me an estimate. (It wasn’t inexpensive… but it wasn’t anymore unreasonable than other Mercedes shops. I believe talented folks should get paid for their time and these folks went over and above.) They work fast. *Most importantly these folks know how to actually repair these cars in DFW. I won’t be visiting the many other shops around DFW that don’t or shouldn’t touch cars like this. This definitely wasn’t a low cost venture. However, I know if I would have started here we would have been much more satisfied and saved funds on incorrect work. Having a shop finally come through and make this old car purr with the necessary repairs is priceless to me and left me smiling the entire drive home! The only reason I am taking the time to write this review is to help other Mercedes owners that might want repairs on their old SL done correctly find the correct and best shop to do the work correctly!

    Brought my 2017 X5 in for an oil change. They competed the work on time as promised and for a much better price than the BMW dealership. A few weeks prior to bringing it in, started slight oil smell after driving and could hear a slight clunk in the front end. So I wasn't surprised that they found several oil leaks and a bad front-end bushing. Quoted reasonable prices to fix everything. Overall, very friendly and professional. I highly recommend them for service on your European vehicle.

    A big thank you to these guys for their quality work on my Land Rover! By far, the most affordable and quickest repairs I've had done on my vehicle. Very communicative and honest! Answered all of my questions and were very knowledgeable. I will definitely be bringing my car back for any other maintenance/repair needs!
