John, With all respect, I apologize if I insulted you in any way. I meant no condescension or ill to you personally, so please let me explain.
My father had a Porsche repair shop since I was 8 years old, I grew up in that Porsche shop in Austin, Texas.
Callas Rennsport was a referral only business for over 15 years until the internet arrived, around 1997.
Since the internet, brick and mortar businesses' lives have been greatly affected; we receive calls, emails and notes constantly with people requesting pricing only estimates, and asking if they can supply their own parts. Now, having said that, I understand that you have limited factors in comparing shops and businesses from one to another so that leaves us with the internet, places such as Yelp.
The only way I have been able to weed out some of the many requests is to ask if a person is interested only in the lowest price, if "yes", I feel that it is better handled by informing people that we are not the best fit for those looking for the 'lowest price'.
As the owner and originator of Callas Rennsport, I have been here every day for over 26 years and have made sure that each and every car is up to the stringent Callas Rennsport standards.
For the many of those that know us, know that we have gone to extreme measures to make sure that every client and their automobile is treated with the upmost of honesty, care and integrity.
