I spent literally several years trying out various Porsche independent garages and mechanics around the Sacramento area. Through Rennlist, I received a PM that I should try IPB Autosport in Sacramento. I had just spent $4,000 through an independent so-called Porsche mechanic to get my factory slantnose running right, and the guy totally messed up the car. I took it to Ron Kain and he had to re-do a lot of the work this other "Porsche mechanic" had done, but the car acts and runs better than it ever has since I've had it. Ron's prices are very competitive, and he's the kind of guy who won't tell you that you need a certain part of work done....if you really don't need it. He's also the kind of guy who will give you a list of what needs to be done now because it's a safety issue or will potentially cause damage....then follow that list with optional things you can do as money becomes available. I now take both my Porsche 2002 996TT as well as my 87 930S factory slant to IPB....they can work on water cooled or air cooled with equal professionalism. IPB also works on BMWs. Take my word for it....great place to go.
